About Us

What We Do

  • Obtain and encourage the professional networking and exchange of ideas encompassing compensation program elements, including wages, salaries, incentives, bonuses, deferred compensation, benefits and other related forms of employee remuneration.
  • Conduct research into the latest compensation and benefits ideas, innovations, and practices to inform the membership.
  • Actively foster the development and improvement of compensation and benefits policies, procedures and practices.
  • Encourage and support the continued professional development of the membership.

The MACA Board of Directors is elected by the members and consists of a President, Vice President, Finance & Administration Officer, the immediate Past President and three elected Directors.  The control and management of MACA and its property is the responsibility of the Board of Directors.  In addition, the Board is responsible for maintaining the continuity of MACA and the furthering of its long-range purposes and benefits to members.

President - Alyssa Trudell

Alyssa is the Manager of Total Rewards at Goodwill Industries of SE Wisconsin, where she oversees compensation, benefits and wellbeing programs for the organization. Alyssa has worked in HR Compensation for over ten years at both Profit and Non-Profit organizations. She earned her Certified Compensation Professional Certification (CCP) through World at Work in 2019.  Alyssa is a music fanatic and enjoys teaching dance fitness and strength classes outside of work.


Vice President - David Price

Dave is currently the Director of Staff Compensation at the Medical College of Wisconsin. Prior to that he has served in various capacities across multiple national and international industries, including financial services, consumer directed benefits, energy, health care, and building technology.  He has over 15 years of broad-based compensation experience, holds an MBA from Arizona State University, and earned his CCP through World At Work in 2018. 


Finance & Administration Officer - Celine Gotay

Celine is currently a Compensation Analyst at Charter Manufacturing. Her compensation focus is on broad based compensation where she provides consultation and creative solutions to address compensation challenges of the business. Her experience also includes market pricing, policy creation and administration, pay structure analysis, and business acquisition support. Celine achieved her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and is working toward completing her Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) within the next year. Exposure to board roles is not new for Celine. She’s held board roles in other groups including President at UW Milwaukee’s SHRM student chapter and Treasurer and President for her local Toastmasters Corporate Chapter.


Director (Technology Committee) - Nicole Schmidt

Nicole is a Human Resources consultant with over 20 years’ experience in various industries.  The bulk of Nicole’s experience was in the financial services industry with M&I Bank as their Corporate Compensation Manager.  After some years at Northwestern Mutual and A. O. Smith, Nicole began a career in HR Consulting.   Her expertise is assessing employee Compensation to provide managers an objective audit of competitive and fair pay practices.   Areas of focus in review will include incentive plan design, performance management, FLSA, total compensation as well as the critical audit needed to ensure the organization is in compliance with Equal Pay for diverse employees.

 

Director (Marketing Committee) - Harpreet Mangat

Harpreet is currently a Senior Compensation Consultant at Johnson Controls Inc. She is an innovative, results- oriented professional with 7 years experience in broad based compensation and hold MBA in finance and HR from Concordia University. Her background includes job evaluation, market pricing, salary structure analysis, annual merit and bonus administration and project management. In addition to being a member of MACA, she is also a member of World at Work and is part of the Women Network Professional Development Committee at Johnson Controls Inc.


Director (Programs Committee) - Suzanne Bonlender

Suzanne is currently a Compensation Analyst. She has been at Kohl's for 11 years, 3+ years experience compensation. Suzanne has a vast background including recruiting, retail merchandising, talent development, project management and policy/procedure development. Relative to compensation, she has a deep knowledge in annual review design and development, compensation communication, HCM data management and field and corporate incentive plans.  Suzanne is also a strong relationship builder while advising business partners around all compensation decisions. In addition to being a member of MACA, she is also working to complete her CCP next year.


Past President - Brian Scott

Brian is currently a Manager of Compensation at Kohl’s. Prior to Kohl’s, Brian was a Senior Compensation Analyst at Brookdale Senior Living providing guidance on compensation policies, advising on pay decisions, pay structure analysis and design, and stock plan administration. Brian has over 10 years of compensation experience and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and is a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). In addition to being a member of MACA, he is also a member of MMSRHM, World at Work and SHRM.
